FAITH - No Matter What

Having "Faith -No Matter What". What does this statement mean? Does it mean we shouldn’t show disappointment, grief, fear, or anger when things occur that are unpleasant and heartbreaking? Does it mean that if we show these emotions, then we don't have faith in God?

Absolutely not! We are human and experience human emotions. God created us this way. God is never surprised!

In my own personal walk with God, there have been times where my faith was weak and I felt alone and heartbroken. I wondered how things were ever going to get better. What God showed me in those times that He is always there and is preparing a much better day ahead. During the times of crisis in my life, when everything seemed lost and broken, God remained. It was in the darkest moments of my life where I began to understand what “Having Faith – No Matter What!” truly meant. Trusting and believing in Him, even when I could not see the answer to my situation.

Having faith is continuing to believe God is who He says He is in the midst of these situations. In Romans 4:13 "It was not through the law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith." Believing in God's promise, even if it seemed quite ridiculous or impossible. Abraham had faith in God, even when God told him to take his only son Isaac up to the top of the mountain and sacrifice him to show his faithfulness and love for God. I am sure Abraham was devastated, was grieving the whole way and especially when it came to the point of raising the knife to plunge into his son's chest. I am sure his heart was breaking. But because of his faith, his loyalty to God, he was willing to surrender the most important thing to him, his son. God rewarded Abraham for his faithfulness by stopping him at the last minute and providing a lamb to sacrifice in his son's place. Because of Abraham's faithfulness, even in the midst of it all, he received God's blessing and we can receive His blessing as well.

God tells us in Matthew 7:25-27, 33 "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?...But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

God asks us to surrender all to Him. To have Faith that He knows what He is doing. We can either choose to live fearfully and afraid or we can choose to have "FAITH - No Matter What". I consciously choose to have faith in God and His Son, Jesus Christ! Therein lies true healing, hope and freedom from the burdens of this world! I pray you choose to have “FAITH – No Matter What” as well!

God bless each of you,

Gwen
