It''s A New Year! 2020!!
Updated: Jan 7, 2020

It has been awhile since I posted on my blog. I am not sure exactly why and I am so glad to be back!
It is a new year and I am so excited to see what God is going to do in the coming days!
For the past few years I have seemed to have been in a cycle of loss and grief, and now it seems to be turning. At least that is what I am feeling in my heart and soul! I give God all the credit and glory for that!
On New Year's Day many of us make resolutions to either lose weight, make more money, travel more, etc. I have done that in the past but this year I didn't feel the desire to do that. Instead of a resolution I am choosing to set some goals. The first goal is to grow into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ through prayer, devotional time and quiet time. The second goal is to become healthier and take care of my body. As it says in 1 Corinthians 6:19 "Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit who is in you whom you have received from God? You are not your own you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies." NIV
Now I know the Scripture is speaking about sexual immorality and I also know that another way to honor Him with our bodies is to take care of the bodies we have. We can do that by making healthier choices. Eating smaller portions, skipping a dessert here and there. We don't have to make the changes all at once. A change here and a change there adds up! Go for more walks, take the stairs instead of the elevator, get up and walk a few steps while watching TV.
It's the same for our walk with Jesus. A change here and a change there draws us closer to Him and how we are to live our lives!
Let's be honest, we won't always get it right, we will make mistakes, we will eat that extra portion of mashed potatoes or piece of cake. We will, that is our human nature.
The great thing is that every day is a new day! Every day with Jesus is a new day! His mercies and grace are never ending!
So don't beat yourself up when you make a mistake or don't achieve your goal for the day. Go to sleep in peace knowing that tomorrow can be another day to "Walk Through the Fire with Jesus"! The Fire of Life!
It's an awesome and exciting journey to be on! I hope you join me!!
Blessings to all of you in this new year of 2020!!
Love in Christ,
Gwen
