When Struggles Come

John 8:12-14 12 Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” 13 So the Pharisees said to him, “You are bearing witness about yourself; your testimony is not true.” 14 Jesus answered, “Even if I do bear witness about myself, my testimony is true, for I know where I came from and where I am going, but you do not know where I come from or where I am going."
Have you ever found yourself in a place where you are struggling to see the light? That everywhere you look you see darkness, no way out of the situation for you or for someone you love?
I have been there and now I am praying for someone I love very much to find their way out of the darkness and into the light of Jesus' love and power. He is the chain breaker!!
When the darkness comes, and it will come, we have the promise from Jesus that He is the light in the midst of the darkness, He is right there with us showing us the way to go and wrapping His arms around us as we feel lost and alone.
I know of some people that I care about who are struggling with a diagnosis of cancer. Those who are struggling because their marriage is falling apart. Those who are struggling just to make it to the next payday. Those who are struggling with depression. My heart breaks for what they are going through and my heart is also filled with the assurance that they don't walk this path alone. Jesus is right there with them, with their families, in the midst of what seems to be pitch black darkness.
Jesus is the Light of the World. For me, when I found myself in the darkness, He was the one that brought me out to the other side. At the time I thought "How can I even go on?" My life as I had known it since I was 18 and married was over! I had never lived alone, I had never thought I would have to live alone, and yet that is where I found myself to be.
At the time, I couldn't see clearly. My heart was too broken. My life was shattered. That was over 5 years ago. Today, when I look back, I see Jesus in the midst of it all with those He sent to be my comforters and to encourage me, by taking care of my needs before I even knew what I needed. I give all the glory to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and God my creator!!
What I would like to say to you is that if you have found yourself in the darkness you are not alone!! Jesus is the light and He is right there with you! Darkness does not last forever! I am living proof of that! Be encouraged and know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and that light is Jesus! He loves you so much!!
